CHAMAECYPARIS lawsoniana

'Lawson Cypress'. A large, conical tree with drooping branches and broad, fan-like sprays of foliage, arranged in horizontal though drooping planes. Leaves pointed, green or glaucous green, marked with indistinct white streaks beneath. It is a most useful and ornamental tree and makes an excellent hedge or screen even in exposed positions and shade. Its numerous cultivars vary from dwarf shrubs suitable for a rock garden to stately, columnar trees in many shades of green, grey, blue and yellow, also variegated.
